Four Star Grading
The
star grading from Visit England focuses on various categories during the course
of a 'mystery visit' by an inspector, and includes Cleanliness, Service and
hospitality, Bedrooms, Bathrooms and Breakfast. In order to achieve a Four Star
grading we had to be scored as at least Very Good in most categories.
In fact, on our last assessment of October 2010 we scored as Five Star for our
Bedrooms, Breakfast, Cleanliness and Service and hospitality.
Silver Award
This
award is given to Hotels and Guest Accommodation. It reflects a high level of
quality, comfort and cleanliness in bedrooms and bathrooms with very good levels
of customer care and food provision.
It is awarded to the top 10% of 4 Star Guest Accommodation providers.
Breakfast Award
Breakfast
Awards are given for breakfasts that exceed expectations in quality, choice and
service.
Sponsored by Kellogg’s, this award recognises those hotels and B&Bs that offer
their guests a quality and choice of breakfast, service and hospitality that
exceeds what would be expected at their star rating. It will help visitors find
those places where the owners, managers, chefs and staff have gone the extra
mile to ensure the breakfast will exceed expectations.
Walkers Welcome Grading
To
be updated - extra provision for walkers.
Cyclists Welcome Grading
To
be updated - extra provision for cyclists, including lockable bicycle
housing.
